What was once planned as a private course is now a public favorite just minutes off Interstate 80, halfway between San Francisco and Sacramento. But Rancho Solano still retains that certain private club luster in the way Baird's routing takes full advantage of its hill-and-valley setting, the service standard set by Kemper Sports' staff and the quality of amenities in the clubhouse. It'll take a careful mix of power and finesse to post a career number out there, thanks to some muscular par 3s, water-framed par 4s and interesting par 5s, at least two of which are reachable by bigger hitters.
