The day FG toured the Chase's remote, hauntingly beautiful site in late 2005, it was clear something magical was happening in the Pahranagat Valley an hour's drive from the Vegas Strip. Namely, world-class golf fit for a Ryder Cup, which is exactly what may transpire someday as Coyote Springs grows into its own high desert community and the PGA of America builds its widely anticipated teaching facility. For now it's all about incredible golf, rendered across a colorful canvass of mountains, yucca-dotted arroyos, perfectly incorporated water features and blindingly green fairways and putting surfaces. The mirror-image finishers on both nines are simply amazing, and No. 14 is one of the finest short par 4s anywhere. Worth the drive? Oh, you bet.
